Errors on V5 T30 Kombi

I have just recieved the V5 for T6 T30 Kombi, it has 2x Captains Seats & a 2+1 Set-up in the back. The V5 states it’s a ‘Panel Van’ with Six Seats. Has anyone else’s V5 been wrong & what is their body type on a Kombi?

Hi, first question is: are you sure that it's a factory Kombi or was it converted to a Kombi?
My factory Kombi T30 with 2 x captains seats and 3 seat bench rear, stated "window van" with 6 seats on the V5 (I think).
I've had it reclassified so now states "Motor Caravan" still with 6 seats.

It’s not uncommon for dealers to register them wrong, if you bought new contact your dealer and they will sort it

I've had it converted into a camper, so I had it reclassified.

My T30 panel van was registered as ‘Panel van/side windows’ which I left for now as the van does now have side windows. I will fully register it as a camper when the conversion is complete. It does make you wonder what some dealers are thinking of?

Thanks for your comments. It’s a Factory Kombi, ordered new from the dealers. I contacted the DVLA & they said to Contact VW Uk. VW Uk confirmed that is correct as it’s base is a Panel Van & it can have up to six seats. I’m still not convinced. I took a note of the persons name, date & time of call them confirm the call was recordered. I’ll contact the dealers & I’m going to Email the dealer I got it from.

I am considering a Kombi at the moment but this case worries me When is a van a company car? Coca-Cola tax ruling 'confusing'

My factory Kombi (T5.1) also says it has 6 seats, even though it has captain seats. A family member's T6 Kombi is the same. I suppose it's true, a Kombi does have 6 seats, VW just allow you to delete one by selecting the captain seat option. Could be that the dealer system is automated and the vehicle registration is done from the order form, again this will provide standard Kombi details.

I wouldn't worry about it as long as you're sure any van you're looking at is a genuine Kombi if that is what you want.
