From the factory T6 Webasto aux/parking (water) heater comes configured to heat cabin only.

Up here in Finland the vans come with overhead control/timer panel to allow the use of timer or remote to switch on engine and cabin preheating before setting off. The heater is configured by dealer to heat both engine and cabin.


The trick that makes the heater to warm both engine and cabin is to configure the coolant change-over valve as "not installed". See coding screenshots below.



In this configuration the flow of coolant will be as shown in the picture...

Possibly only new EMBEDs go wrong - the above should have been a link to "Test of wastegate actuator" in post #3 of the thread - instead goes to beginning of the thread.

See the old EMBED in post #126 in here - it's still seen as "Test of wastegate actuator" (at the bottom of the posting - the posting itself linked here seems to work - takes to beginning of the post)

turbo and recirculation test

Turbo actuator test - sweeps a few times from min to max - OK as expected based on the logged journey.



Turbine changeover valve test - sweeps a few times from min to max - OK as expected based on the logged journey.



Also both pressure sensors read same value as seen earlier thus no suspects there either.



Also the wastegate can also be tested using VCDS but the recorded data already shows that it operates correctly.
Just fullfilled/edited the procedure into the posting...

Got curious how T6 copes with doing short journeys. And how short would be too short for successful DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) regeneration.

The graphs below are result of doing short journeys - the plotted one is number 3, thus two interrupted DPF regens before this. At this stage the regen was about halfway through - the DPF regen process was initiated at soot level of approx. 30 grams. The engine is T6 CXEB with recently updated software. Among other things, the DPF regeneration process was altered with the update.

I believe (based on quite a few similar samples) the case here...

Now then folks. Just brought a 2018 T6 Kombi. Great looking van with a ABT body kit, brakes and 20" alloys. Looking forward to some tweaking, fiddling and making memories. We have brought it to pull our caravan so will be turning it into a day van. I'm coming from 2 seater convertibles so will be an interesting transition. Is waving a thing like I did in my MX5's and F-Type.

Plenty of questions to come.
