Just finished replacing my EGR. What a pig of a job. Hands are shredded!
Was getting a slight loss of coolant, about half a litre every 500 miles or so.
Took the old one apart and can see rust
between the cooler and the valve. And could see corrosion on the gasket, so probably that’s where it was going.
Wonder if I could have just replaced that rather than the £600 for the whole thing. Oh well it’s done now. Fingers crossed it actually sorts the coolant loss!
Next job is replace a driveshaft, once I’ve got feeling back in my hands.
