Hi Everyone, Hope you can help me

I need to replace the Gaiter and plastic surround on my van as current one is scratched.

Can anyone tell me how I get the Plastic outer ring and selector plate off (see pic)

Off topic and maybe its just me, but wouldnt it make more sense to put the gear markings on the other side so its easier for the driver to see?!?

VW are so tight at times, the amount these things cost and they cant be bothered making rhd parts.

@PukkaT6 this is a common issue for many European manufacturers when it comes to RHD versions and it is a cost per unit issue.

I can understand certain parts but in this respect it it appears to impare the drivers view of a visual aid.

I say 'appear' as I havent driven one tbh

They changed it over do the writing was on the right on the touran.

On my test drive I had my wife in the other side tell me when it was in drive. There is a delay on the mfd saying the gear too
