Dsg problems

Came to the van one morning to find it wouldn’t go into gear, popped up with stability warning light and the flashing coil light and the spanner flashing where the gears would be on the instrument cluster.

you can hear the solenoid in the gear selector engaging and disengaging rapidly, I can only get it in gear by manually releasing the gear selector, but as I do that the solenoid gets really loud but then goes to normal when it goes in gear. (When in park the solenoid engages and disengages rapidly and the gear selector light flicker at the same rate, as does the gear indicator on the dash and the auto hold light)

Replaced the Dsg selector with a new unit.
Had the megatronic tested (all seems fine and in working order).
Wiring to the gearbox all seems fine and has been tested.

I’m baffled. Anyone else had similar issues?

Have you had it plugged in to VCDS or similar, any codes?

I’ve got U010300 ‘lost communication with gear shift module.

I’ve got U010300 ‘lost communication with gear shift module.

I’d be investigating that before I threw any more money at it. Could be dodgy wiring or rodent damage. Is that from VCDS or a generic OBD reader? Have you tried clearing the fault?
