DSG Clunks and DMF rattle......again

Hi All,

I've posted in the forum about a year ago re: DMF Failure.

Let me give you some background......

Ex RAC T6 150 - At 90k had a replacement DMF whilst on fleet replaced by VW in Colchester I believe. I brought the van at 123k and a short time after noticed the tones of DMF failure.....chattering away to itself so booked it in with Quattro Tech In Cambs who replaced it with a new genuine DMF - Was much quieter and seemed to solve the issue. Now coming up to 131k and guess what's back......what sounds like DMF chatter. Surely it cant want a third in 40,000 miles.

The van does no towing now, isn't launched, abused etc but I'm feeling a bit miffed! Its been worse since the temps have dropped but very noticeable on idle from cold.

The other issue I've started noticing is there is a definite clonk coming down the box from 3rd into 2nd, I am conscious of it so maybe being to gentle and it definitely seems to hold 2nd for longer before changing up to 3rd - What's people opinions?

From what I can see its never had a clutch pack and I'm told this should last until around 160k

Id love to get the TVS DSG map from @BognorMotors but want this resolving once and for all - I've spent so much on this thing since I've owned it I reckon itll be in the family for generations just to justify it...LOL

Any thoughts guys?

Hi
Did you get the dsg clunking resolved, as mine is starting to do a similar clunk when changing down in low gears?
Many thanks
Rob

Thanks for the info, I am going to inspect the splines as soon as I get back home. Currently touring Wales and all the 20mph zones are really testing the DSG. It doesn’t know what gear to be in and I think that might be causing the clunking to happen more often. It’s done 94k 16 plate with recent fluid change. There is also a single slight knock under slow braking that wasn’t happening until now. Hope it gets me back home!
