Driving lessons for driving on the left.

Bit of a random question, does anyone know if there is any lessons you can take to prepare you for driving on the other side of the road.

I'm planning a trip to Spain next year via France, never driven abroad and wanted to try and prepare myself for it.

You'd be surprised how quickly you adapt.
Exits from most ferry ports are also pretty good for easing you in gently; I wouldn't worry about it.

The only time you need to remember is the morning after you have camped and you pull out of a small track onto the road, and you just have to remember to pull out onto the correct side for the direction you are going, all other roundabouts and major roads are obvious.

If your steering wheel is nearest the curb your doing fine!

I got thrown in the deep end and had to drive to Ampsterdam so was given a mapbook (was a long time ago) and went. Got a little lost on the outskirst looking fo rthe Unin and had to do a bit of sign in a garrage to find the way but I made it. I drove al over the place for work after that. Not sure I want to do it now though and I'd be steering clear of Calais

I find it quite easy in a right hand drive but struggled in a left hand drive car, my brain seemed to think the the peddles were reversed as well, even though I knew they weren't, bizarre.

25 years ago you had similar problems with people trying to cadge a lift over the channel in your van. My normal answer was no or Fu*ck off

From my experience it's very easy however I'm more worried about European drivers. Especially Belgium. They drive like ass, it's so busy because of the company car tax rules and the roads are the worst condition.

Germany and Netherlands was wonderful. Nice road manners.

Italy takes some beating for the number of crazed psychos on the road.
It's the only country I don't like driving in.

On thing I noticed in Europe is that most seem to know what an indicator is, makes a refreshing change.
