Drivers heated seat not working

Hi folks, so as the title says, the drivers heated seat has stopped working, it did, but now hardly works if not at all.
The lights on the rotary switch work, but no heat in the seat, any quick fixes available or access to a wiring diagram would be aces!! But any advice would be greatly appreciate! Thanks

Hi, have you unplugged the heating wires from the seat element and checked for continuity with a multimeter?
It sounds like the heating pad may be faulty. They are made of a very thin wire and they are know to break easily.
There are videos on YouTube on how to repair them or buy replacement from eBay and swap it.
Checking the element is the first thing I would do.

@bubbadubba hey mate, thanks for the info, I've done some voltage (ok) and continuity checks.passenger side (see photo!) was 2ohm with drivers side at 8Megohm! Slight difference! Right then, lets go shopping 😹

Following. Interested to see what element you buy as mine is doing the same
After a bit of research, and the threads on here, the back rest and seat cushion are wired in series, so if one goes, the other won’t work du to an open circuit. So im going to order (see pics!) this puppy and go from there!

Not yet. Need to start on it soon as it's bloody cold first thing in the morning. My drivers seat base has gone.

So to round this thread off, I’ve changed the bottom seat pad pt no 7E5963555 that i got for a little over £120 from Slovakia from these guys OEMVWSHOP.COM (TSE Slovakia s.r.o.)
about a week postage and 2hrs to fit (if you sort of know what your doing!)
8 bolts, 16 seat clips and 4 cover support clips - these took the most time to remove/reattach. BOYS & GIRLS! USE HEAT WHEN TAKING THE OLD HEATER ELEMENT OFF, or you’ll just shread the seat foam to pieces!!
Im off to enjoy a warm backside in the morning 😂

This is an interesting thread, but i have a situation where the seat base is working, but the back rest isn't. Not sure the base is quite as hot as it used to be either. It all seems to have coincided with work on the armrest which meant moving the seat fully forward. I've checked the connectors underneath and all seems well, and the wiring doesn't seem to have been pulled. I guess the first thing is to check the elements,, but reading above it seems that if one element goes, neither will work ?. Thanks

As far as im aware, the cushion and back rest are wired in series, so one continuous electrical circuit. Im guessing if one works and the other doesn’t, there must be a high resistance somewhere (ie it not working) but still continuity in the circuit for one of the seat elements to work.
On that basis, i’d say the high resistance is in the back rest element and that would need replacing…..
