Double Passenger Seat - Do They All Have Storage Underneath?

As the title says really. I'm looking to replace my single passenger seat and there are a few on eBay right now. One of them show the seat base tilted forward but annoyingly it's not in the Simora pattern I need.

I'm curious though - was it a factory option to choose a forward opening seat with storage?

yes, the front twin bench folds forwards,

there is some space inside . . . . . and a factory leisure battery if fitted.

this is what mine looks like

Have to say the storage is the reason I’m keeping - keep the bbq / hook up lead / variety of other stuff do well worth it

Same here, love the extra storage you get with the double. Add the aftermarket reclined hinge and you have a more comfortable and folding seat option.

Do you have a link for the hinge - it’s prob on the forum somewhere no doubt ?

Yeah I have a swivel as well. I just tilt the backrest forward when I turn it so it misses the B pillar. No issues at all

Has anyone found a good fitting storage box/caddy for each of the sections ? I want something that I can take in and out - plus avoid the grease that's smeared along the swivel area on mine.

There is a plate that fits in the bottom somewhere online but I cannot find it so someone on here might know

You may already be aware, but if your van came out of the factory with a single passenger seat, then it’ll have had a single passenger airbag fitted.

Twin-seats come with a wider airbag, to protect both passengers.

A swap is doable - if someone offers your their single seat as a swap then they can also swap over airbags. And flooring - as you’ll be left with two small holes in the rubber.

Just wanted to point this out in case you was not in the know.

Good luck

I just cut two pieces of board I had left over from fitting up the seatback to make a floor in the storage area under the seat. this now lets me put anything in there without falling through to the swivel area and getting stuck or covered in grease. just use a bit of card to make some templates.

Thanks for the info, however I've already decided that a double seat isn't for us now that we've learned they don't recline. I've just today put a spinner on the single passenger seat and the missus is happy with that. Job's a good un :)

Thanks to all who commented.
