Does anyone use Car-Net?

I have found it very useful for finding diesel prices, dynamic routing and traffic information directly onto the map display.
I have used it all over Europe and found it very useful.
Now that TMC is withdrawn, I have no alternative without goiung to the phone options.
Is anyone actually using it?
Regards Derek

I contemplated it but the cost vs benefit put me off
The MIB2 in my Audi took a SIM card so I got a cheap £0.90/month deal which gave me access to Audi Connect for fuel prices.
I paid for a month's subscription that gave me access to traffic but the Google map overlay had been obsoleted and I didn't want to pay £11 for it.

With CarPlay I don't even use the navigation system in the van and Waze and Google give me all the traffic info.
I will concede the fuel price info was very useful, but generally it only confirmed that I was going to buy fuel from one of two filling stations.

Hi
Thanks for that, I did find it very useful while travelling europe to find fuel on the journey, and keep an eye on local stations as they often have price wars..
I've never got into phone navigarion, always prefered simple built in systems.
I wonder if the mobile network withdrawing 3G is the problem, which is why I was trying to find an active user.

I tend to use my Mrs who uses a very old separated tom tom.:) If I am on my tod. I either use memory in my head or old fashioned Map Books or paper maps. Neither of us have a liking for the Caravelle in car thing so have only used it once or twice. I guess that I ought to buy a new dedicated gps device but these days they seem to rely on mobile phone connection which I am very much against.:cautious:👹 I do not see why my mobile needs to know my whereabouts so it is locked away hate the things anyway. I would never answer it when travelling other than prior arrangement. Its me the radio and who ever is in the vehicle do not need to talk with anyone else from outside, so no need for phone-gpss attachment. Had considered Garmin outdoor gps device with OS mapping that sounds interesting but I imagine £££expensive but useful.

Hi
I don't mind feeding back by travels live, as it then feeds into the data that folk send out to other road users.
I do notice that locally, roads show up as busy unexpectedly. The only way they would know would be from other vehicles in front of me. I thank them for contributing.
We are all in this together.

With constant development of navigation apps, I find that in conjunction with CarPlay they offer a much simplified, and up to date, solution over the built-in navigation.
