Had old shape XR2 then new shape XR2 then an all white XR3 thought I was the dogs do darrs . Build quality was crap and alloys started to peel in 12 months but the moved up to a Capri wow now that was a long bonnet lol. Not good in winter either  rear wheel drive.

I had 2 Capris, both MK II, both had slabs in the back over winter - my dream car back then was a Capri 2.8i but well out of my price range lol

Yeah we had 2 bags of sand in the boot which of course meant could not get any shopping in it lol. My brother in law had the 2.8i white nice car but was stolen twice, the locks were poor.

i had a xr3 4 speed very rare wish i still had it, then i remember it hated puddles, that cvh engine blew oil everywhere, the radio could just about pick up fm, no power steering, 90bhp, 0-60 in 2 days. oh how i miss it

Old skool??? o_O T5 is gone ... T6 is here... and still a trusty friend of that old T5 ...

I had an XR2 like that, bought it straight out of the showroom, it was one of the first to come out. Loved it and had it ten years before getting rid of it.

I had an Xr2 mk1 in black. Looked nice, but ran like a dog. My mate had the Escort Cosi, in the same colour as the one above. He spent some money on it, and it was probably the fastest car i`ve ever been in.
I don`t miss the old cars though. I could n`t afford much, and everything I had was noisy, unreliable rubbish.
So, what new car would you buy now, and park up for later ? I`ve heard some Focus Rs are already fetching good money

i'm a big believer in its now become a generation thing, my lads can't tell the difference between a mk1 and a mk2 escort but my generation who rallied the pants of them in the forests and tarmac crave for them, and they are fetching silly money, but for how long? I struggle to see any modern day cars achieving cult status, all ford are doing with the rs focus is a limited addition model of the same car!! I've watched mk1 rs turbo customs double in price in the last 2 years

Lol, I had one of those as well. Absolute garbage. Mk2 was a bit better, but not much. Mk3 ex royal mail van, what a solider that was.
Oh don't say that......, I've never had one, but always loved the idea of one. If they were like the MK2's within 3 years they had rusted away:(
