Do I Sell The T6 And Re-live My Youth

Interior of the new Volvo is amazing like.think swedish but not in an ikea way .nearly bought the XC90 on the strength of seats alone...stunning .. sorry for hijack..

I had a RS 2000 and managed to get it airbourne rallying it back from tea break one day in Germany:D

Mate of my son is into 2000 ish Volvos, big problem he is finding is that lots of the bits need to be reprogrammed if you change them, dealer only and expensive.
A car to buy at the moment as a long term investment might be a good late land Rover Defender, not what I would want but lots love them.
I keep seeing BMW Z4s another very nice car with some style, could be worth a punt. My monument in my garage is a 1983 911SC in bits and needing some time, its not original and is in bits, wouldn't suit the purists but I am aiming for the look that I like. They are going up in value but if I have got one I want to drive it and enjoy it.

Defenders and original style minis will definatly be really good keepers in terms of easy and cheap to maintain and going up in value

my 16yr old lad wants a classic mini....not sure I like the thought of him with no safety features ....but I can't convince him to look at anything else

That's easy, just let him drive one, and see if he want's one as a daily driver after that.

Had a Porsche.. never again...
Loving the cortina.. brother had a corsair..not seen one of them in pure time...
Triumph herald was always on my hit list, with its bandy backlegs.it made for a quirky looking motor that's for sure

There was a list of cars I longed for as a teenager. And that BMW E30 M3 was one of them. Only managed a 1/43 minichamps model of one, blue tacked on my dash. Audi Ur Quattro Turbo. Peugeot 205 T16. Nearly went for a used M3 once. But 8 grand seemed like a lot of money back then. However looking back at what I've owned, I reckon there's scope for some to be future classics.
1987 MkII Golf GTI 8v (wee bumper, big heart).
1990 Corrado 16v (underrated great handling beastie).
1993 Audi Coupe S2 20v turbo. (Rare M3 catcher with a torsen for the snow and a great Q car.)
1997 MkIII Golf GTI colour concept (Jazz Blue. Loud and proud).

Wish I still had them all.

Good call on your pick of future classics diesel donkey.. regret selling my 205 GTI 19.. wish I'd bought the Audi s2 when I had the chance, reckon there all mothballed now.

Sadly, I don't think mines moth balled @Dava lar. No trace of it when I put it's VRM through the Gov.uk MOT check. Expect the Chinese have remodelled it's galvanised panels into baked bean tins.

Had the Procon Ten safety system, that car. Reckon Audi was barking up the right tree with that idea. Even with airbags, the steering wheels a killer. Having it pulled away from you in a frontal impact was the right concept in my view.

That's a crying shame diesel.
a rare car made even rarer.i checked out my ol 205gti on the gov database an she's still out there.
My Emojis are not working on this site,is that the norm?

i'm a big believer in its now become a generation thing, my lads can't tell the difference between a mk1 and a mk2 escort but my generation who rallied the pants of them in the forests and tarmac crave for them, and they are fetching silly money, but for how long? I struggle to see any modern day cars achieving cult status, all ford are doing with the rs focus is a limited addition model of the same car!! I've watched mk1 rs turbo customs double in price in the last 2 years
Wish i had kept all my old school fords 3 series 1 rs turbo 4 series 2 rst a 1600i fiesta rst a saphire 4x4 cos x2 escort cosworths which i still got the one.
I could retire if still had all of these

nothing wrong with a wide bodied HSR shove-it, when it was mobile!! got a mate at the moment whos building an historic one for rallying
Ohh yes 2300 16v twin cam, even better if Bill Bydenstein (RIP) had breathed on it.
My chevette like most was a lowly 1300 but hand built engine, big valve flowed head, 28/36 DCD and 4-2-1 big exhaust could do well over a ton, off the line was pretty good back in the day, although your average euro box is faster these days....progress I guess!
