Hi all,
I'm trying to help a friend of mine whose rear speakers sound really distorted, you can hear music through them but it's really quiet with a lot of distortion - there's also a low hum when the radio is switched off.
He has the standard head unit but the speakers have been upgraded to Alpine all round and he has an Alpine sub under his seat. The headunit has been coded to include rear speakers (have checked this with obd11) but weirdly the fade option acts as if the rear speakers aren't enabled, i.e I can't slide the fader backwards. I've measure the ohms across the rear speakers and they seem fine (4 ohm), what is the best next step to triage this?
It feels like we should check the speaker wires feeding into the back off the headunit to make sure they aren't loose? He seemed a littler nervous when I suggested that so if there are any other things we can check first that would be appreciated!
Thanks!
