Afternoon all.
Apparently I'm a bit ham-fisted as what should have been an easy touchscreen swap ended with a broken screen...
To that end, does anyone have a screen or a broken unit (with an otherwise working screen) going spare?
I'm leaning toward a compete after market replacement but just hoping I can recover this unit for not too much of an outlay.
I know touchscreens are easy to find and cheap as chips. The screens themselves don't appear quite so common.
Cheers.

What part exactly have you broken ?
It’s possible to source replacement screens like the one I have here but these particular ones are exchange units so they need your old one back to recon for the next user

Should also say it doesn’t need to be the discover media satnav unit the normal infotainment unit with the larger screen is also interchangeable

Thank you, I wasn't aware of that.
All my searches for a screen just get swamped with replacement touchcreens which I don't need.
Basically the main screen is cracked. I managed to break the glass under the touchscreen so there is just a fuzzy mess of colour now with an obvious line where the break is.
Everything works, even the new touchscreen...

Afraid not, they come from a trade supplier and i got one as a favour from a friend of friend kind of thing
Just try one of the retrofit companies they should be able to supply or hopefully advise you of your options ?

@Dav-Tec ?

You can't buy the LCD unit on its own you can only buy the digitiser on its own. Whole new screen assembly I'm afraid

Thank you.
Are you able to supply one?
Put "MIB 200 DISPLAY" into eBay and they'll appear, they start at £75 for a non genuine crap quality screen, close to OE quality ones are around the £130 mark last time I checked.

Non genuine screens aren't great quality but better than nothing I guess. The ones with no text on the back are awful quality, the ones with CXG666 written on the back are better but still not great, they are 6" screens in a 6.5" case so the round VW startup logo is a bit smushed and there are black bars top and bottom to compensate for the smaller LCD.

Even the "genuine/real/OEM" screens aren't genuine. The OE manufacturer doesn't make them anymore.

If you'd rather not have the hassle and just want rid of the unit, let me know as I buy/sell/repair these units.
