Discover media retrofit & update issues

Hi guys - not strictly a T6 post but bear with me!

I have a T5.1 California and like the Discover media unit in my Amarok so much I decided to fit one to replace the old RNS510 in the Cali.

It’s fitted and working as it should be but for the life of me I can’t get the clock to match that of the dash. It has 12.00 displayed permanently other than occasionally flashing a seemingly random 6.34 ‍

It was removed from a new T6 and sent to RetrofitSW for removal of CP etc and seems to function perfectly otherwise. We suspect it’s because the T5 doesn’t have 5F in the gateway and don’t seem to be able to find a solution. It has been suggested that a software update may be worthwhile but I’m insure which version or where to trust to download.

Apologies if this isn't complete - I can't see much of the infotainment stuff on the scan.

The easiest solution for you would be to upgrade your BCM to 7E0 version.
Second hand version can be purchased for £60 mark and it is quite easy process to transfer coding, adaptations and perform key learning.

Alternatively, you could try to untick addresses 56 and 77 on your current GATEWAY installation list and see if there is any improvement.
I guess if you keep 37 ticked you do have NAVIGATION menu entry on your Instrument Cluster?

Do all of your MFSW buttons work?

The adapter was a very similar quad lock albeit possibly not kufatec - it was all supplied through the same outfit who did the CP removal. I believe that everything is working MFSW wise.
I’ll try your suggestion now.
I wasn’t aware the BCM change was a feasible option - I’d been advised there could be some drawbacks doing this but I’m unsure what this is in reference to.
