Dash Cam help

Apologies if it has been asked a million times....
I have dash cam that runs from a 12v port. I have two in my T6 but they are permanently live which may be handy for some but I am sure if I leave my dash cam plugged in will result in a flat battery by the morning. Are there any ways around this? I just want it to be switched on and off with the ignition really. I am in and out of the van all day so trying to remember to plug / unplug it just won't happen!

Hi.
I use the BlackVue power magic pro. Turns the camera off when the battery drops to a certain voltage.

When I get a chance I am going to wire a 12v socket in under the dash somewhere that runs off ignition live. Search the forum for dash cam posts as there has been a lot of chat on this subject. I think Pauly said something about the centre row of fuses in the lower fuse box being ignition lives so you could piggy back from them. Be worth double checking that though just in case I have not remembered it correctly.

Thats correct in the lower dash fusebox there are three columns of mini fuses in the top half of the fusebox and the centre row of these three is ignition live so you could connect directly in there or power a 12V from there and conceal it somewhere with your dash cam plugged into it out of sight
As mentioned above most dashcams these days have an auto off feature where the camera will automatically shutdown if the battery voltage drops below a set threshold
