Crazing and spider web affect on poptop canvas!

Hi All, I've just had a poptop fitted and on the canvas I've got crazing, looks like giant spider webs mainly on the front, front corners and front sides. Has anyone experienced this with their vans? Just I've never noticed this on other poptopspoptop1.jpgpoptop2.jpgpoptop3.jpg when looking around. (see images)

That’s not right. Looks like it’s gone mouldy on the creases while in storage. Shocking that they let it go out like that.

I've been intouch with the manufactures and they are going to get intouch with their canvas supplier, was not sure if this was normal due to open and closing, creases, etc. Just wondered if anyone else has this crazing/marble effect in their van. Maybe looks worse because of the colour which in burgundy?

That's not normal - leastways, I've never seen anything like that.

I've just had an update from the manufacture and they eventually admitted this happens, also sent me a photo. Has anyone else had this issue with their poptop? Am over re-acting? Just cost over £4000!

I'm just waiting for the manufacture to try and resolve the issue so don't want to give there name just yet as hoping they maybe able to fix it? Mainly wanted to know if anyone else had this issue with their poptop of any brand. Just so I'm not over reacting as don't like complaining or making a fuss.

Reimo poptop 7 years old and still looks brand new no crazing or spiders web look

Not that this helps you but I've brushed mine in Fabsil and always dry it out at the first opportunity if its been wet.

If you said it was 3 years old and never dried/treated then I might expect it.

It has been so wet and damp over extended periods and if folded and put away wet or damp and not aired out then I would not be surprised to see that sort of thing. I do not have a pop top but I have seen that sort of patterning before.

Yes totally get where you are coming from, but brand new never been out of its plastic wrap and kept inside until I had it.

Also just had a chat with them and they said the canvas are all like it depending on the colour and I'm the only one to ever have complained! So i said if they are all like it then why aren't these images up on the website to show customers what they are getting! Think they might agree to replace the canvas for me.

Is it a vinyl or cotton/polycotton canvas? My cotton canvas spends most of its time scrunched up, and isn’t marked like that after 2 years.
I believe it is a vinyl canvas, they are now sending me samples of cotton canvas, but only available in colour grey :( , to possibly change. Maybe it is due to being vinyl as quite a stiff material, wondering if there is a way to soften the vinyl as this may provide a solution.
