Covering Up An Armaplate

Looking for peoples thoughts & ideas.

My T6 which I’m part way through converting came with a Armaplate on the barn door. I would like to remove, it but where the holes are drilled through the meta bodywork to hold it in place are just above the black handle trim (and either side of the door handle on the underside of the place), so it leave gaping big holes that can’t be covered by the trim. Has anyone else had a van with one of these fitted to it? What did you do to cover it up, or if you did remove it how did you hide the holes? Any thoughts or ideas welcome

Could you not get something like a carbon or chrome strip trim then cut it down to the same length as the black handle trim so it looks balanced..... Will it cover the holes....?

alternatively looks like a body shop job to fill the holes and respray the panel....

Rattle spray job, it’ll pretty much disappear ??
