Coolant Pump Fault

Hello,

Engine management light has popped on.

It's a Carista code 27616 and also a P190D code. Both of which point to something called the Intercooler Coolant Pump. Is the same thing as the Auxiliary Water Pump? I believe it's used to regulate heat and is not as critical as the main water pump.

A quick inspection of my 2019 T6 shows this little pump at the bottom of the engine below the coolant reservoir.

It's pretty accessible - though may involve half an hour on my back!

As spare parts go it's relatively inexpensive and readily available.

Has anyone changed one of these and have some tips? Does anyone have the part number or VW parts catalogue link?

Many thanks

P

Don't got by the code alone.

. Just use the fault code s as guidance.

It could relate to a temp sensor, or flow rate, or something else.

Can you get access to a VCDS scan? For more detailed scan data. (you can also test the pump with VCDS)

@mmi

can we get more detailed data from the Carista?
