Confirmed at last.

TBH if I was told it was going to take this long instead of the quoted 12 to 16 weeks I wouldn't have bothered. VW suck at communicating and don't think twice about moving your build date with no explanation. A regular email update explaining the delays would go a long way to ease the pain.

Too right. A number of years ago a company I worked for ran an efficiency course we all had to attend. The guy told us that communication was one thing that went a long way. For instance if your company provided good service and communicated with you well by the time they got their product and were happy they would tell their colleges how good you were which could be around ten people. If you failed big time and they were not happy with you they would tell every one who would pass they on as well. The company ends up with bad press and find it hard to sell their product. VW are like that but get away with it. I'm like you had. I known it would take that long I would not have bothered with ordering new.

The main reason for sticking It out is the energy and enthusiasm from this group, otherwise I would probably be driving around in a new transit.

Hi Dino. I would even less hope into Ford. Ordered a Custom last week of 2014 on 20 week delivery. By End September the dealer advised me to give up and re order it. I did not bother as by that time I had also had to wait a full 6 months for a replacement tailgate for another Custom which fortunately was still usable.

To be honest I have had a good experience with my order which I am collecting on Friday. Yes the whole journey started in March but as I wanted adaptive cruise which is only available on euro6 the order was put on hold. My dealer was great and in the interest avoiding the price increase he managed to place the order for my van at the end of May that was technically not buildable, then get it corrected when the new option was available sometime in June. I was informed by him in May that it would not be made until sometime the end of August and to expect it hopefully in October, to which I replied "so I will hope for November then". He called me when he had the build week confirmed which was week 43 I think, then called me again to say it had been built and would then be at the bock waiting for a ship one week later. No guarantee given for how long it would be waiting but he said 1-2 weeks then a further 3-7 days once in the UK.

Anyway from a May order for a spec not available it arrived at the dealership 2nd November. Only collecting it on this Friday as having the seats converted to leather and angled side bars fitted (which they still have not got, now that's a joke)

Sorry about the length of this but just wanted to point out that a good dealer can help with the overall experience, mainly by not telling you what you want to hear and making false promises. The wait for me has been made easier by the fact that I still had a 180 Highline DSG T5.1 to ride around in.

Im build week 49 and have just been able to add on the comfort dash upgrade
T32 204 swb DSG Blackberry

The sleepless nights have started :D

Nice one there Chris, my dealer has always told me he could not/would not want to add an option once the order has bee confirmed for fear of loosing the build slot.

Good luck and welcome for getting the dash added, I would have loved to have that on mine. Still there will always be something I guess.
