Complete newbie

Hi and welcome to the forum. I hope your van brings you many years of fun and good memories

Thanks jog, it's kinda like a new world has opened up, really opening my eyes to possibilities

Hi guys just popped it to say hi, this is all new to me, we've just bought our first transporter, our first vw.
Absolutely love it! Got a lot of plans in the future but for now just great for us all to get out with the dogs

Have a great Sunday all
Welcome, I'm a new too, thats the reason I brought my kombi....to get us all in 1 vehicle...got 3 border collies

Hi Guss,

I'm glad you posted, so I can tag along too, as I am also a Newbie! We've wanted a van for ages, but couldn't go ahead for various reasons. Then I changed jobs, got a car allowance, and found an opportunity for a PCH, so we now have a T6.1 short wheelbase Caravelle Executive in Starlight Blue Metallic. It doesn't have all of the options I'd have liked, but it's reasonably well-equipped...and most importantly, we can afford it! We've taken it on two seaside day trips so far, and I've bought a load of mats for the inside, as dogs and teenage boys do not respect carpets! I want to get the front seats swivelling, and am looking into that, though as it's a PCH it needs to be a reversible mod - I don't get to keep the van at the end of the hire period (four years). Great to have a van, however, and really enjoying the driving experience and utility. Great to be on here, too!

Sorry Mud Digger - definitely should have come up with the goods, sooner. Need to clean it before I can take any "now in my possession" pics, but here are some taken by the dealer, before we took delivery.

And blue vans are definitely the best, AND the fastest!

That looks ace dude
Cheers! We also put roof bars on it, and rails, and a tow-bar, too, for the bike rack - although the fixed ones look really cool, they don't really work for mountain bikes with plus tyres! I'm really enjoying the ownership experience - it's a great all-round vehicle. It's just frustrating that they are soooo expensive!

You're welcome, i've not been on here long so I'm a newbie. Mine is a kombi van for the dogs really...having 3 border collies is a nightmare. Yeah i love owning mine, yeah mine was a small deposit on a house so I feel your pain!

thanks @Javelin nice van and that's a lovely color..........

and if it helps why leave your money sitting in a bank where you cant see it or enjoy any of it

Now you have something to build travels and adventures on plus waving at all the other VWs passing by lol

it's a life changer for sure

if you needed the cash in an emergency.. They sell really quickly ...

hmmmm and 3 x collies that's a lot of dog hair ........ keep hold of it all would make great insulation

Well it's not actually mine...it's a leased vehicle. The car allowance stipulated that the vehicle could not be more than 5 years old, so getting hold of a nearly new Caravelle on a PCP was tricky, and super-expensive. This one I got at list price, though with very few toys (wouldn't have minded side wind assist ) but after 4years I have to give it back...

@Javelin So it's yours for 4 years to play with with no service costs lol not a bad deal u will still have a great time and 4 years while you save up to get your own lol sign up with the forum and Join in the fun and Team Blue .. Nick

Well, not without service costs - they’re rolled into the lease cost, but that’s the same for any vehicle. Quite like the idea of a swamper kombi van, with 4WD and a snorkel.
