Cigarette socket removal

I'm wanting to change the top tray 12v socket for a double usb charger. I can access the socket via tbe air vents and radio, but cannot figure out how to remove it without breaking anything.
Any guidance please?

Just pop an adaptor in there. Most petrol stations have them for a few quid.

Not worth the agro, but spend a couple more pennies and get a branded one from Belkin or the likes. It will charge fast and hopefully not blow your devices or van up!

There is a tool to remove them. Special little puller. The only other way is to destroy the mount ring around it. An adaptor might be an easier choice and I should mention the panel around the radio is a bit of pig to get in and out due to the socket being in the way. Can be frustrating....

I wasn't recommending that particular one, just promoting the suggestion of a small neat fitting adapter over the socket replacement

Not sure that you would have the required depth anyway for a fitted USB socket.
