Charge cooler replacement

I had the dreaded coil and engine management light come on last Tuesday and when I plugged in my Carista it came up with codes P029900 and P2279 - turbo underfoot and air intake leak. On the way home that night it lost most of its power and as I pulled over I heard a horrible hissing but no fluids leaked. Once recovered from the side of the m66 I got it home and started the engine, alot of air and smoke looked like it was coming from the bottom of the charge cooler. I managed to get it booked into a garage (it's now been there for a week) but they are struggling to get the standard part as apparently it has been superseded and costs nearly £1200 just for the cooler, brackets and extra pipework needed to make it fit. Has anyone else had this issue?

Chargecooler? I'd assumed it would be an intercooler

I’d start by replacing the boost pipes from turbo to cooler and cooler to throttle body.
Then pressure test the system, if that doesn’t work, darkside developments offer a Wagner upgraded unit for a little less.
