Changing USB to a cigarette lighter socket

Hi all.


Just wondering how easy it would be to swap this USB outlet for a cigarette lighter socket? Is it simply a case of swapping the faceplate and attaching the existing wires to the new outlet?

We only have USB outlets in the back and I want to run a powered coolbox from the leisure battery (instead of the van battery using the sockets on the dash.)

Yes.

But check that cables and fuses are correctly rated for the load you intend to pull through the new socket

It's easy a swap the usb charger to a socket.

But you need to check you have enough depth behind the panel.

Check that the supply cable is fat enough for your intended loads.

And check that the fuse is suitable for the cable.
