Sorry, I'm busy lazy... Is there a legal requirement to have your gas and mains installation certified by a gas safe engineer / spark?
This is for personal use and not hire.

I didn't find any online source that said you had to do this, so we haven't.

It's also going to be very difficult for someone to properly assess your gas/electric installation once all the furniture etc is in place.

No. You only need it legally if you are hiring the camper out (as far as I am aware).

DVLA didn’t ask me for a certificate when I reclassified as a motor caravan and my insurance didnt ask for one when I told them I had added a gas hob and an electric system

Technically you need to be gas safe registered with CoNGLP LAV. (Change over nat gas to liquid propane in leasure accomodation vehicles)

The change over bit just means its an add on you your core gas acs certification.

I can’t help with the electric but you need to be gas safe and have LPG to install and have it tested once a year if hiring it out . I would phone your insurance company as they could ask for installation detail if it goes up in flames.
