Ceramic Coating

This may sound like a silly question as I have no experience with ceramic coating but does ceramic coating protect against stone chips aswel as give it a glass like finish? We don’t have a t6 yet but thinking of getting our golf done after repaint on the front end.
You would be better off with a PPF paint protection film, like 3M Ventureshield, that does what you want.
The whole front end of mine is wrapped in it.

Hi, not a silly question; no it will not protect from stones and will also get scratched but still worth it (I hope!!)

Thanks , iv seen paint protection film, so il maybe go down that route thanks for your help

I had mine done and i must say its better than i expected! It all depends who does the work. I went for kamakazi ceramic and it washes so easy. I used signature details next to stansted airport i would highly recommend him his attention to detail is crazy!

I used Adam, Revolution Detaling near Yate.

Without giving exact costs, I recently got hold of another bonnet and had it painted with the intention to have it clear wrapped once the paint had fully cured, and then swap it with my chipped one. I contacted several companies and explained what I wanted, but got back prices from £500 to £800 for Just a bonnet wrap.
Does this sound about right @Loz?

I actually concluded at that cost it wasn't worth it for me, simply because I can have my bonnet painted half a dozen times for those sort of prices, and couldn't justify the prices.

Hey all said I’d report back - think some pictures say it all. Very pleased, how I wish my van should of looked when I picked her a few months ago - now let’s see how long she stays like this!

Mike from Car Detailing Perfection in Verwood, Dorset carried this out over the weekend.
Polish, detail and correction plus 2 coats of CQuartz CQUK 3.0.

I've had my car PPF'ed and then had the ppf ceramic coated.

You don't quite get the smooth gloss finish with just a ceramic but the ppf will protect the paint and the ceramic coating still gives it a great shine and its so easy to clean!

Also had Clear Plex film put on the windsreen, it must have saved the windscreen at least twice in the 6 months I've had the car.

That is a great shine.

Awesome..!!

Had a nice chat over the weekend with a Morgan Aero owner up at the classic motor show, and his car had the G-Technique ceramic on. The paint was a smooth as glass, and a real depth of shine. It's not just snake oil tales, then..

Very impressed with this ceramic stuff.

I must be the only person who has been under whelmed by my ceramic coating which cost a grand
Maybe my expectations were to high I expected it to be like glass and for rain to roll of the paintwork
Coz it was so smooth alas it isn’t either of those things

How long has it been on your vehicle?
