Happy Easter all,

On my van on my first attempt of the carpet join at the top near the tailgate. I want to pull this piece off and re-do it.

Any advice on how to get a decent join which is hardly noticeable.

Thanks

Have you tried brushing the glue off, and then using the brush to merge the pile of the adjacent pieces a bit.
This might hide the join to your satisfacation.

Go into the adhesive slightly wet, with the carpet overlapped.
Then change your blade for a new sharp one, and cut through the two. It will take a fair amount of pressure.
Pull the top piece back, and pull out the bottom piece, being careful as the back of the carpet will still have wet adhesive on it.
That should give you a decent join.

Thanks, ill try this, It sounds like a better way. I kind of went for the cut it close approach and try and butt it together but still left more of a gap.

If you have any spare carpet, its an idea to do a test piece outside first. That will get you a bit more used to how they go together.
