As a VIP you can also download a full list of every module and bit, which will then enable you to see what extra things you can code. You'll find it in the VIP area.

Excuse me my ignorance, but firstly I would like to know what hardware and software i need to have to get started. Does it require any 'hacking' into the 'car control system'?

@SofaKing , Google is your friend..

VCDS .... Laptop with Windows, buy the hex can system you get the dongle/obd lead, then install software and good to go. (Plug in and read faults do mods etc).

Carista.... Buy dongle, download app onto iPad,iPhone etc or other system, then hook up via Bluetooth when dongle is plugged into car obd port. Can read faults straight away, but not view codes or do mods.. Pay the subscription or for week, and unlocks software to show fault codes etc, and do mods..

As @DaveyB says, VIP membership will show you the document listing the modules etc, the forum will give you an idea of what can be done etc..
