Caravelle spring - colour markings

It basically means the description used in the title of each set is wrong.

The Caravelle springs, being 20mm shorter than stock, would have different codes to standard van springs.

It may just be a generic title they cut and pastes to save time or they might genuinely not know which is which. Could always ask them a question through eBay?
If you only want springs this seems a pricey way of doing it - like others say you’re better off asking CRS or Bognor if they have any that fit your criteria.

When I had my shocks done at CRS they had a huge box full of springs removed from vans - some with just delivery miles.
Presumably ONE of his set is correct for a 2016 Caravelle though, right?

Well, I've ordered a set from the seller. The set he states is correct for T30 load. I'll let you know how it all feels when fitted :)

Anyone help,

2015 VW Caravelle exec 4motion (CFCA)

My rear springs are green, green, orange.
Part number 7E0511115G. If Google is to be believed.
Fronts are blue, blue and green part number unknown

I know my van was previously converted for wheelchair use and then put back to standard Caravelle configuration before my ownership.

So question is are these the factory springs or uprated? I suspect the latter to cope with extra weight of wheelchair lift etc (all now removed)

Anyone know what parts should be fitted?

Many thanks
Simon

Lucky you, a 4motion Caravelle Join, The Select Few, :) I have no idea what the pound rate of the springs or length. I would suggest having a word with @CRS Performance Performance he can provide better springs and more importantly better Dampers. He is a KONI specialist. The original fit springs and dampers are not great KONI adjustable dampers are. Have a mind what you would like to do with your Caravelle 4Motion it is quite capable off road has very good rut capability just long ramp over but still more than enough to get to most farmstead’s and camping fields with sensible tyres even in the worst conditions. In any case a set of KONI and springs would make a starling improvement to handling and ride of your steed and I very much doubt that you would regret it. He is the man, he can answer any of your specific questions related to suspension. :)

Thanks,

Already fitted the koni active shocks all round.

Originally fitted the THQ Eibach springs with them but rear end sat too low, put it down to the weight of the read diff.

Gone back to springs that came on the van but just sure the rear end feels firmer than it should.

Don't think I want it low just comfortable 😊

Swap the T32 rear standard springs to T28 standard springs , It will be better and still look standard height

I do often wonder when people complain about the rear end is this or that because they are subjective opinions based on what what looks good, bad or what handles best or that it drags its backside along the ground or it alters the caster angle blare blare and affects the steering

Yeah until you are tried different things it's all just subjective.

I can say that the koni active with standard springs is much better than koni active with Eibach units from THQ.
(At least on my van)

Felt like I was going to loose my teeth with the THQ Eibach units fitted 🤣

The common issue is the weight of a camper conversion +- 400 kilos , this lowers the back 30 to 40 mm. This doesnt change castor but it will make the steering lighter because there isnt enough weight on the nose . This problem is made worse by the fitting of a lowering kit because the front goes down 40 plus mm and the rear then goes 80 mm plus and the ride becomes awful as well as poor steering feel . there are some simple fixes for this ( cheap and cheerful ) and some nice fixes using kits specifically designed for campers .

Front pair installed and mot sorted. The springs were not exactly the same but it feels a lot fresher on the road. And now legal too! Rear pair go on this week
