On Caravelles, are the cargo lights on the D pillars wired into the courtesy light circuit or somewhere else? Do they illuminate when the boot is opened? Thanks

Yes they are connected to the courtesy circuit. Red/black +ve, brown/red -ve

Cheers Deaky. I can’t say I’ve ever noticed the courtesy lights coming on when tailgate is opened but I guess I typically unlock with the fob first which puts them on anyway.

Is it wishful thinking for there to be a plug sat somewhere in my Kombi just waiting for me to attach a new bit of loom to?

For the amount of time the lights are likely to be used a couple of independent rechargeable battery powered LEDs could do the job.

Anything is possible, what are you trying to do?

I have spare footwell/globebox/trunk lights and fancied installing them in my Ovano style install so that the cargo area illuminates. Not a difficult job - just wondering if there’s an unused plug on the existing loom to plug them in. Doubt it, but would save me having to tap into the circuit.

Oh I see, doubt there'll be a handy spare plug/socket hanging around ...
