Can You Turn A Std Poptop Into An Open One

Just wondering if anyone knows the feasibility of turning a std canvas pop top into one with an opening zip to become an open top.

If so, anyone know where? How much Etc

Think the difficulty would depend on what make/model Poptop you have and if that manufacturer offers a scenic canvas ?

@andys has an interesting thread relating to his ripped roof canvas and trying to get it repaired and going on his comments fitters weren’t interested in working on it unless it was a roof they fitted originally so that may be a good place to start (if you know who fitted it ?)

If you can remove the canvas you could take it to a marquee manufacturer and have a zip fitted. Attwools near Gloucester do work like that.

Yes the canvas repairer I’ve taken mine to could do this so I assume that most could. I opted not to in the end but one thing from the conversation that may be worth insisting on is that they said if they did that it would include a “storm flap” that would be attached on the outside top of the zip to prevent rain getting through.

I may go back and have it done if I decide to keep the van long term,
You’re looking at £100-150, if you can get the canvas off...
