Campingaz 907 Question

Ok, so apologies in advance for this basic question!!
Our new Campervan came without a gas bottle! So, have managed to get an empty one fairly cheap to exchange for a full one.
Having never put a gas bottle in a camper before, have hit a brick wall!
How to get the bottle and adaptor into the black gas cabinate, an easy job, so I thought!!

Couple of questions please.
1. As the black gas pipe with the adaptor is only approx a foot long, you cannot place the bottle in the cabinate and then screw the adaptor into top of the bottle. So, I held the adaptor and screwed the bottle onto the adaptor, and was then going to place it into the cabinate.
problem is, with the height of the bottle and adaptor fitted in the bottle, cannot get the bottle into the cabinate, there just isn’t quite the height in the cabinate to get the angle right to set it in place.
2. So, does the large nut need to be unscrewed that holds the black pipe onto the part that goes into the bottle, then the bottle be placed into cabinate on it’s own, then the part be screwed into the bottle with the knurled knob on it, and then finally the large nut be re-connected back onto the black pipe joint and tightened.
Sorry, if this all seems obvious to people, but having never connected a bottle before, just trying to get it straight in my head!!

Is that a Campingaz 907? My valve is much smaller and flatter

You can get side-on valves, with the on/off knob sideways. (I'm sure there's a proper name for it!) Have a search for camping gaz valve.

But basically, with your cabinet and valve as it is, #2. Detach the valve from the pipe, bottle into cabinet, valve on, re-attach. You should have a spanner supplied for the nut. Assuming there is a Regulator further down the pipe? A flying-saucer shaped thing, usually blue.

Looking at his picture Nigel has a high pressure pigtail connected directly to his bottle, so he must have a (presumably bulkhead) regulator elsewhere. I’m not sure you can fit the above bottle mounted regulator in that case without changing the whole rest of the supply back to the appliance.
I’ve just fitted mine and had a good read and the regs state you should have a bulkhead mounted regulator if the gas installation is fixed. Looks like Nigel’s is installed to regs. Depends where his bulkhead reg is as I think from memory the pigtail max length is 50cm. I’ve deleted the posts I was working to, but I bought a 50cm so there must have been a reason.

Then I’m not sure how to make the bottle and connector fit in the box, but I’m pretty sure you can’t use a bottle mounted regulator. Your install looks to be done correctly with presumably 8mm copper from the outlet side of your bulkhead regulator. You just get the appropriate pigtail for your bottle.
Would this type of bottle connector help?

When I had that problem with a bottle I put the bottle in the box first then screwed the bottle onto the connector. Not the easiest of manoeuvres but did the job.

Yes, this is what i done in the end, and was what the converter told me to do when I contacted them on how to get it in.
