CAK side water tank layout!

I’m thinking of getting the CAK water tanks, one for waste and one for fresh water. The CAK-204(27L) and CAK-205(21L).

Has anyone used this setup and if so, do you have a preference for which tank to use for waste or fresh water?

They are normally used together to create one tank.

But sounds a good plan to use 1 + 1.

Do you have a diesel heater? Or are thinking of getting one installed or might possibly do so? The normal location for this is right where the tanks go, so I understand.

If you do go this route, personally I would go 27 fresh / 21 waste, presuming you are happy drinking from the tank.

We have 38 fresh / 17 waste, and have never filled the waste before needing to refill the fresh, mainly because so much of the water goes into our teapot!

It’s a difficult one, we originally had a bucket underneath, moved then to a 12ltr internal tank and now looking to have a skirt waste tank, possibly a CAK-205. It just suits how we have used the van so far. One less faff until you have to empty tank. Have a spare wheel mounted fresh water 68ltr tank.

It's a nightmare trying to figure out its true mounting locations and any potential issues with a diesel heater. I did find some old instructions that give some idea PDF. Also working out how much uiderstray you might have to cut away.

Collapsible bucket here but can depend on how long the grass is  fresh water is an underslung monster tank that never gets more than 6 litres of water... it's way too heavy to drag dead weight around.

I have a diesel heater under the drivers step, and a Cak skirt tank for fresh. Bucket for waste.

Cak appear to be be the only ones that do a custom shaped tank for here. Top tips - get the brackets powder coated before you start. And specify exactly where you want the connections. They had three tries to get mine right.

Here’s my installation
