Hi folks, just sold my Caddy to try and get something a bit bigger! In the market for a transporter but feels a bit like folk come up with prices using a random number generator! I guess I just need to learn all the different trims! Looking forward to getting to know some of you.

Cheers

Welcome. Still seems like a sellers market atm. What spec you after? What's your budget? Few for sale on here so check out the for sale section.

Thanks both, I'm looking to buy something and then do work over time to turn it into a bike van/ camper. Budget is maxed out at a little over £20k which I thought was reasonable but looking at the cost of stuff on Autotrader its a bit off the mark I think. My only prerequisites are AC and under 90k miles. LWB would be a bonus.

There was a really good one at John Clark in Aberdeen that I missed by an hour or so which was pretty disappointing but I'll continue to look! And willing to travel for the right one!

Thanks very much! "not VAT qualifying" is like music to my ears at the moment! Unfortunately the guy called back today and said it sold on Thursday!
Ah that’s a shame I was having a look last night on vw commercial used vans basically main dealers across the country there is a fair few vans on there around your budget

Thanks everyone for your help, what a great community!

I've seen 1 other on the approved used VW site and one on van monster. I'm off to see one next week which my dad (retired mechanic) isn't keen on as its not had the cam belt done. Van looks in really good shape but the service history seems a bit light and add the cam belt into the equation. But it's LWB, not white and has a hatch so I'm tempted to ignore all that haha!

If your looking at van monster they are usually well serviced as they are ex rentals and long term lease vehicles, but you do really need to check the body work side. We have repaired some real dogs for them (mainly ford and peugeots) but also just light cosmetic jobs (mainly vws. Think vw owner just care more) all there parts that they use are genuine so that's a plus and they are never in big accidents as its not cost effective for them to be repaired.
