Please post on here who they are….I don’t use Instagram. I’m absolutely baffled that they took money for an awning and then refused it. (Or, am I misreading when you say “paid for one”?)

Was it bigger than a standard (8x5m) pitch when attached to your van so they refused it ?

We tried to put it on grass, he said hardstanding or take it down. It's -3 here, we tried reasoning with him, he was having non of it so told us to take it down. Gutted really as we're away for my birthday, it's put a foul mood in the air

Nope, no misread. Charged us for an awning then told us to remove it. I think he was being harsh, but i got the arse with him when he said. I was close to being kicked off.

The pitch is huge to be fair. There are 4 pods with hot tubs in, 3 vw's here including mine. Non of them have awnings but all have pop tops. We bought a portable toilet and everything with us which we now cannot use as we have no space

if you book a hardstanding they generally like you to pitch the awning on the hardstanding

True, but the pitch is absolutely solid. We said to them at reception the grounds too hard, their reply was take it down then. We asked about grass, it was a straight no. Even though the grass is ruined. Shame really, it's put me off owning an awning now

don't get put off, get some heavy duty pegs or better still screw in pegs and screw them in with a cordless drill my prefered method, other methods are available
