Bluetooth dongle to monitor DPF

mine is VAG DPF lite
Release 2.29.4
Mine looks exactly like that.
Ah, I see. It seems that the free version has been downgraded a bit.

Alternatively, on Android you could use Torque Pro to monitor the same + quite a few addtional items. Not cheap though - approx. £5.

I use Carista EVO dongle and VAG DPF APP.

Works great.
Really stupid question but need to ask. Lite version or the pay for version (approx £7).
Just got my EVO and the CARISTA app only shows limited info as below. I want to see more 😉

Appreciate that, thanks 👍

My main reason for this EVO, CARISTA App and now the VAG DPF app purchase is just to see what's happening with the DPF as recently suffered with a blocked DPF unit (thankfully fixed by Unit 18 guys).

Now I'm interested to see what I can do with the CARISTA APP. Don't want to make changes but just to look how Van T6 in performing.

Any ideas/suggestions appreciated 👍

I never bothered with the free version , just got the paid version £7 for android and it works a treat!! I run it on my head unit , but looks better on your phone. So nice to know when its about to re-gen so you dont interupt the regen. Defo worth it IMO.

That's great info thanks and exactly the reason I got it. Now just waiting to see at what point it re-gens....and then as you suggest I'll carry on driving until it completes .....
Its taken a long time for me to realise that the increased revs, fan running on after engin turned off and stop/start not working are all issues associated with DPF re-gens.

Just keep an eye on the soot values once you have the app running, the closer to 100% the closer to when its gona regen, just dont stop driving until its finished doing its regen.....apparently some "new" vehicles now have a "dont stop driving im regeneing" light that comes on in the dash.

Just to mention, on the VAG DPF paid for App, my 'closer to 100%' before regenning was 130 something % when the regen cut in. Apparently there's an adjustment on the app, but I've not yet investigated fully. Well worth the £7+ I paid. Pieces of mind etc...

Can confirm, there is a setting for adjusting which measured "Soot mass calc" is your 100%.

In settings it's this option.

Just keep it on your android auto and when it starts regen the icon for soot mass calc and regen duration go red. There is also a setting for it to make a sound when it starts and stops, may be enabled by default as it freaked me out the first time it happened.

I have the full version on Android btw.

Thanks @b-quan , my van is currently degenerating on the drive at the moment until Friday 13th, when it goes in for service, Aux belt and tensioner surgery at Midland VW. I'll suss it after that! no such worries with my daughters borrowed Fiat!
