Big dog on twin front seat folded flat

Big dog on twin front seat folded flat as a night bed: Hi what are the thoughts about having the twin front seat folded flat (Vankraft bracket) as a dog bed for my brown lab. Anyone got any tips or photos of this set up? I am hoping to find a used LWB T6.1 in my price range but it is like finding hen's teeth, so a SWB may be the only option and so space is going to be tight with a dog.

My first thought would be that he can sleep in front footwell. Colin at yorkshire poptop adventures on youtube had a black lab that was happy sleeping down there. I think with it sleeping on the swivel you'd likely be forever repositioning his blanket or cover and eventually the vinyl fabic would get scratched or torn. I do like the idea of having it as a dog bed but it's 90% assured you'd wake up with dog on your bed hehe

A Labrador is not a huge dog unless it is very over weight. It may be content on the seat not folded flat or as suggested, above, in the footwell. Not sure what your particular set up might be. You could do the decent thing and sleep on the roof in a rood tent or pop up. even consider having a rear tent for the dog depending on door type. Used to have Irish wolf Hounds.

So there is no reason why you couldn't. I think if you were to go this setup you would want to have on a swivel base so you could push as far forward as possible. If you just fold over with the seats facing forward in driving location there is quite a gap to the passenger footwell. My (smaller) clumsy dog would fall down in the middle of the night for sure or at least make a racket.

You would need to put in the board to seat back and a nice bit of foam/dog bed.

But it could work for sure if the doggo is up to it. I have a SWB with folder so happy to send any pics.

I would love to see some pics if possible, thx

A RIB bed gives you more floor space for the dog although, as others have mentioned, our dog usually ends up on our bed - and she's 26kg

My lab sleeps in her soft travel crate on top of the folded/ flat front seat. She loves it there.

Our collie sleeps in the space under the front of the rib bed, when it’s in the bed position. Seems to really like being in his dog bed under there and leaves us plenty of floor space. Of course he jumps up as soon as he suspects we’re awake.
