Best navigation with downloadable maps

The trick is when your annual subscription expires wait till they give you the offer in the app - I've never paid more than £10 a year to renew.
A couple of months into Sygic and loving it still. Pleased me that you can change the 'verbal warnings' for hazards ahead, for example a speed camera warning can be (and now is) X rated content. I did find the inconsistent rally driving curve/bend ahead warnings annoying and they are now turned off. Very versatile/accurate/fun Satnav software, even though you do have to pay for it. (The cost of a years Forum membership).
Thanks RT, great recommendation.

Bit late to this, but I use Maps.me app. Mainly in SE Asia to check that the taxi scooters wernt taking me on a round trip. Its always been good. You do need to download the maps before use though.

One more to be aware of for detailed maps that can be downloaded (think you get 10 maps for free) is maps.me.

We use it for walks and it’s fabulous, even showing things like waymarks at the top of hills, position of gates etc.
I believe ItchyBoots used it for navigating half the world but I haven’t tried it for driving - I’m still happily using Waze for that.
