Battery replacement costs?

The larger capacity is just to give you more reserve. The vans wake up each time you open a door, so if you are on a campsite and don’t have a way of keeping the starter battery topped up, it is quite easy to flatten the battery.

Ahh, right aye. I see. This is what I’m currently working with, probably the original.

Cheers. I don’t have Carista unfortunately, or the know how to use it if I did, keen to look into it though!

Carista is quite easy to use compared to some of the others. Just need to download the Carista app.
However, it is also quite easy to cock minor things up and come running back to this forum to ask how to uncock them up. Not that anyone I know would ever do such stupid things except for this one time .......

Yes, that looks like the original. The battery connections look a bit dirty, so I would clean them when fitting the new one. See all that space to the left of the battery? That’s what allows you to fit a bigger one if you want.

Carista is easy to use.

Due to time, lack of expertise and equipment restraints - and set against pending work shifts - I opted to just buy one from Halfords and have them fit it there and then. £213 with fitting after the sale discount (£173/£40). It fits the same footprint as the previous, they were a bit reluctant to fit anything bigger, so will see how this manages over the years. Thanks for everyone's help and advice.

The guy fitting it did find what looked like a terminal cover underneath the battery, but it only seemed to fit the negative side due to it's position, so who knows. Either way, no other cover in sight.

Im set for NC 500 next friday and this friday my dash went blank when I turned the ignition key. On sunday ( today) it did it again.

Only halfords open and they said only EFB batteries would come with a guarantee as they come up as compatible with my van on their system.

They would fit a AGM ( which is what was in the van) but said it wouldnt be covered by guarantee.

The AGM only lasted 2.5 years and since the EFB is guaranteed for 5 years I just bought it for peace of mind travelling next week.

The AGM Ibwanted to buy was £50 dearer than the EFB I ended up with.
