Hi all.
Van in question is 2016 T28 S line tdi.
102hp I think..
At the weekend battery light came on and stayed on, luckily we were close to home so after some research first port of call was to check the voltage i was getting just over 12v with ignition off.
once started starts to drop into the 11v range and kept making its was down, was also getting nothing when lights blowers etc were turned on..
read about the commen problem with the LIN wire, it was slightly corroded in the usual place so cut out and replaced around 6" of the wire, checked continuity and wire is good, plus I've read if the LIN wire is duff the alternator still throws out enough power to keep the engine going..

Not sure where to go to check next? alternator looks a bit of a pig to replace so crossing my fingers its not that.

Thanks in advance.
Lee.

Scan for codes and see what comes back.

Unplugged Battery sensor normally kicks in default 13v charge.

So you may have an alternator problem?

Thank you, I do only have a cheap basic scanner, usually quite good when used on other vehicles but was coming up with no codes

Might be best to take it to a local VAG garage to get it t scanned.
