Hi,
Hopefully someone can help, I've just got back from a week away in the Van (T6 2017) and when I got to within a few miles of the house the red battery light came on. I turned everything off I could and got home no problems. When I put a multimeter on the starter battery (when the car was running) I can see it's not charging it was at something like 11.9v. I did a scan (only have Carly) and it has a 02252 fault. I can see the aux belt running and I had a new alternator fitted a few months ago. I've read as many posts as I can, I didn't have any start/stop warnings on the dash and I've pulled the wiring open from the alternator to the bottom of the sump and there's no obvious wire breaks.
When testing I can see that if I enable the leisure side of the electrics to work, the leisure battery is charging when the car is running (Stirling DC-DC charger), does that mean it can see 14v at the starter battery? It's a Fogstar Drift so I can see it charging in the app.
My starter battery has always been sluggish on startup and never sits at 12.6v (mostly 12.0v) so I was going to buy a new battery anyway. But even if the battery is bad, should I see it trying to charge when the car is running? At the moment my local garage is just a bit to far to risk driving there with a dodgy battery that isn't charging. Plus I do have that 02252 fault
I've also cleaned up the battery terminals and they all look fine.
Any help on what I could test myself with a multimeter would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Lee
