Audio Problem

Hi all,

I hope one of you very knowledgeable people can help me out. I have installed a Focal 4.320 with the factory Composition headunit to power my Gladen Appearance One Component speakers in my T6.1 2020 and it sounds great.

However, I have an audible low level, almost metronomic clicking coming through the speakers which goes away when the headunit is switch off and back when switched on again.
I have set 5F byte 11 to Sound_System_external_BOOSTER, the input on the Focal is set to "Hi Level" but I’ve also tried “Low Level” which to me didn’t sound as good, and made no difference to the clicking.

I've set the gains using an oscilloscope so I know the system isn't clipping.

I’ve been through the grounding and it’s super clean and tight. The amplifier is installed next to the glove box where the factory upgraded headunits reside.

I ran in new twisted pair speaker cable to the amp from the factory unit and have tried moving the way the cables are routed but it’s made no difference.

The amp has its own 6mm2 cable ran from the starter battery, via a fuse and it’s grounded at the ground point below the gear stick, again 6mm2 and is less than 50cm.

The only other thing I could try is adding a dummy load on the speaker outputs, before the amp. My thinking is the click is the headunit checking for speakers but I have no evidence this is the case and don’t want to just throw parts at the issue!

All suggestions most welcome, as I’ve tried everything else I can think of and it’s driving me nuts!
