Are 199ps T6.1 a decent buy?

I know the old 180hp’s could be a bit iffy, and the 204hp less iffy (I had one and it was great) but I read it was a gamble buying one. Is the same for the 199’s (2021)?

I’ve found a van that ticks all the boxes but it’s BiTi. I wanted a 150hp for simplicity this time (potentially more local driving).

Any opinions appreciated!

I would agree with your comments. As far as I’m aware the 199 is just a de-tuned 204 to meet emissions standards

Depends on the engine code and history.

It’s a private sale, it’s a 2020 plate, according to the V5 it’s a CXEC engine.

I would look to add the ‘all in one’ if VW allow
