Apple CarPlay and Voice Control?

Anyone having any issues with carplay? When i use the voice control on my steering wheel (while plugged to carplay) the response back is that my contacts are unavailable, however, if i unplug and then use the voice control again, it works. I have looked at all the settings both in my phone and on the head unit, no idea whats wrong.

When you say voice, control do you mean the inbuilt voice recognition or do you mean using Siri are you are you doing a short press of the button or a long press of the button?

it'll be Siri i presume while plugged in, i just do the usual short press, should this be different?

Try a long press, do you hear the double-ding siri sound?
As mine uses the vans voice activation on a single press.

Mine too, and while your phone is connected via app connect the contact list is unavailable to the Bluetooth phone connection. Voice control (short press) can only access your contacts via Bluetooth. Siri (long press) is what you need for voice dialling whilst your phone is plugged in.
