As per title, has anyone fitted an Accusump to their van or otherwise?

It seems a good idea, mostly for pre start oiling, with the added bonus or helping out if you did suffer a momentary oil pressure loss.

I’m thinking I could plumb it into the turbo lines at the rear, this will ensure the turbos & cams are wet with oil before the engine is cranked, especially if like me you don’t use the van all that often.

An interesting idea. My only comment would be that it might interfere with all the existing sensors, and actually throw up fault codes, so will be critical that it injects the oil pressure somewhere that will not interfere with the sensors.

Fair point, didn’t think about that.
Is there an oil sensor that will sense too much engine oil?

The oil will only by in the system until the engine builds up normal operating oil pressure, so it won’t be there for long.

One thing that also proses cause for concern is if it injects 2pints of cold engine oil into a hot engine, especially an engine with cast bottom end and ally head, differential expansion could cause a head gasket to fail.

There is a level sensor, and also sensors that allow pressure relief if the pressure gets too high etc (eg high revs with cold oil). If the ECU sees anything it deems "implausible" it will create a fault code. I personally wouldn't want to mess with the complexity.

Fair point.
I think a little
More research may be required.

I’ll probably give it a go to see what happens when I eventually have to rebuild my engine (204), this idea is a possible way of getting as much life as possible out of my OEM turbo’s and engine, as I said it doesn’t get used weekly, more monthly, even than, only through the summer months, and most engine ware is done during start ups, especially if it’s been sat for a while.
