Any Recommended Air Awning Pumps?

Any good pumps to consider (or bad ones to avoid!)

Not decided on 12v, electric or manual yet.

Would also be good if it can inflate a kayak as well so dual purpose...

Might be a good idea as I think different 'airbeam' tent or awning manufacturers tend to use proprietary valve designs (or at least the only two that I am familiar with (ie. Berghaus and Vango) do). Therefore the pumps are not necessarily cross-compatible.

Also, pumping up a tube is not really a difficult job, particularly as they only tend to need fairly low air pressures and I've never really found an electric pump to be necessary.

The supplied manual pumps work fine - if you do choose to go electric make sure you keep a close eye on the pressure you are putting in; we have a Vango Hex Hub (standalone version of the Hex Away) - pitched it in the garden ready for a family BBQ a couple of months ago - did as as I usually did and inflated to the top end of the green zone (8 PSI I think) and then went shopping. Whilst I was out Jo heard a loud bang and after checking the house for fallen pictures, etc., went out into the garden to find a totally flat Hex Hub - one of the tubes had literally exploded and now has a circa 12 inch split in it. The heat of the day had obviously quickly taken the pressure well above the pressure I inflated it too - school boy error on my part but I was surprised there is not a greater degree of tolerance built in.

PS. One damaged Vango Hex Hub going free to good home :)
