How many folks always connect to EHU when parked up at home? Wondered what the general practice is for keeping your leisure battery in tip top condition.

Solar is ok and free in summer.

But for winter you need to plug in and have a smart charger running.

Either top-up every few weeks. Or leave connected.

Disconnect leisure battery when it's not needed, leave solar connected to starter battery to keep it topped up

As its parked in the garage when not in use its left on EHU and in turn a smart charger is connected and plugged into cig lighter to keep the SB topped up.

Mine is parked under a car port with a solid roof and my solar gets no daylight. So I have taken to connecting the EHU if I don’t think I will be using it for a few days. If its left for a long time, I also plug a separate charger into an interior mains socket and trickle charge the starter battery through the dash top 12v socket.

Ours lives in a caravan storage yard with no power. I bring it home if doesn’t get used in 4 weeks to recharge both batteries. The starter battery lasted 6 years, and the leisure battery is 5 years old and fine.

+1 for Solar with Epever Duo Racer to keep Lesuire & starter topped up.
In summer.
Winter plug in EHU for 24 or 48 hours once a month

Leisure battery on EHU when at home.
When I will not be driving for a few days in winter I put a Ctek charger on the vehicle battery as well.

I often wonder whether that is overkill given the camper conversion includes a split charger?
