Alpine X802 Any Good ?

I run this and this its brilliant... however! Having a few issues with 3rd part apps.. i.e Android's latest update has messed with bluetooth settings so have connectivity issues at present. Alpine have tested the head unit and have same problem so must be android.
Also, android auto doesn't/didnt support samsungs high def screen settings.. so phone has to be set a level down for maps to work 100%.

Lovely looking unit, great sound
But fell the Kenwood DNX 8180 and 9180dab are overall better units, the 9180 has a HD screen which is on another level, they have by far the fastest OS
I have the X802 and am thinking of changing it. Some bits are good - big screen etc - but it has foibles. Phone volume was very quiet, but Alpine did a firmware upgrade and that seems better now. Sat Nav does it's own thing when 'cold' and wanders around for a few minutes till it settles down (even now with a shark fin GPS on roof). Normally does it when first starting, and always when I really need it to work rather than not needing it! No pinch to zoom type thing which surprised me. Last few days it has started doing black screen and disconnecting carplay until I reconnect the cable, but this may be the phone operating system I guess. DAB much better now I have the shark fin. Simple things too - to mute or enable the nav guidance voice needs you to go in about 4 levels of menu to turn it off!
I do, however, like the speed camera warnings on it - lovely loud voice telling me of speed cameras ahead, but I guess they may all do that.
Mine might be a rogue unit, but I was looking at perhaps the kenwood or pioneer units instead. Sound quality is good.

Yeah was looking at the 9180 dab and with a dash cam . Not sure if it’s worth having a dash cam it tricky cause alpine and kenwood look so good

Little update on this thread, as I raised issues with my Alpine unit.
I got in touch with Alpine, and we went through some checks and diagnostics. Having already sent the unit back to Alpine, they agreed to swap the unit and the Canbus interface for new ones. I put this in about a week ago, and the unit has behaved since then. Much better, and the sat nav hasnt gone adrift since then. The MFD display no longer shows odd messages, and no longer has a little error in the corner.
So, it is now a thumbs up on the unit, and Alpine were very helpful with replacing the unit. Had to give them a deposit, but they sent me a new unit upfront so that I could swap it over rather than leaving myself without a unit for a few days.
Obviosly it still doesnt pinch to zoom, and sat nav mute is buried in the menus, but I normally use carplay for everything, so that all works good.
