It doesn't need to be as inside the door card will not get wet.....looks like acoustic foam.

The foam is squashed between 2 layers of plastic so it shouldn't get any moisture build up , but the answer to your question is no its not .

Looks good, nice job. Was it worth it? I'm considering the same and I know it's really subjective but the OEM speakers suck ass, even compared to the golf.

Thanks foxp44 it was well worth the effort , putting the sound deadening in makes a massive difference as there's no vibration on the outer door skin which would over time create rattles, the inner acoustic foam gives it a top end stereo sound all for less than £200. At 1st I wasn't impressed with the sound until I dailed in the equaliser settings , it sounded very tinny ( to tweety ) not much base , hope this helps cheer
