Alpine Halo 9 vs 11 thoughts

My old OEM head unit on the T6 needs replacing.
I’ve decided on an Alpine Halo but unsure on the 9 or 11. I’m aware they offer the same functionality. It’s the fit and cosmetics that I’m interested in.
Jason @Absolut5 mentioned the 9 fits nicer, which is backed up by an AI search. The 11 needs a bit of “personal positioning” and tilting I believe.
Any real life comments / experiences would be appreciated

Can only comment on the Halo 9 as that’s the one I have.

Went back & forth like you are now before I committed to it. Glad I went with the 9 as I know the encroachment of the air vents space would bother me, and it’s an expensive thing to have done to not be totally happy with the outcome.

For me the screen fits perfectly in the space without being intrusive. And is plenty big enough for good functionality.

Dead happy with my Halo 9 and dead easy to fit as long as you use the dedicated Alpine interface and fitting kit. Retains vehicle mike as well so no need to route separate mike.

Alpine halo f905d ( atm eBay car audio direct £829 less £75 discount code)
Alpine installation kit 7VWX303 , shopped around for best price
USB retention kit (I think from Road Radio) £33
DAB retention cable , again shop around but not much ££’s
Check out the you tube video by Advanced In Car Technology if fitting yourself but the newer Alpine interface retains the vehicle mike so just ignore the bit showing the supplied mike.
Just to add that the hardest part was squeezing all the wires etc neatly behind the unit.

Even cheaper now, car audio direct came back with a cheaper offer of £797 and then £75 discount on eBamaking it £725, bargain. It’s how I bought my stuff last year. Expensive but good upgrade.

i went for the Halo 11, happy with the position and i don't think it blocks the vents and i love the look of it.

I used one but it was quite expensive. You can use the supplied gps which I did prior to getting the adapter. It worked well even though it was tucked away under the dash. It has an adhesive pad so I stuck it on the underside of the top dash tray.
The video also shows using the supplied mike but this must be before the new alpine interface was brought out as it retains the vehicle mike automatically.

No just bought it at that price they offered plus used the £75 discount code at that time. The discount code is only offered at certain times so you just have to wait for it to be on or just be lucky.

Don’t know which you should use as I only had the one below the dash. Maybe you have the option of either so do whichever is most convenient and easy to access.
Result on the purchase though

You can use the retention kit in either position, get another retention as the Halo has 2 usb outputs
